Topic #12: John Steinbeck and The Grapes of Wrath

February 9, 1939

Along with the song that came out on the radio from Woody Guthrie, an author is now becoming widely known for his novel about this tough era and his story of what it is like to live in the U.S. during all of this great trouble. The novel he has written is called The Grapes of Wrath. It's popularity has spread nationwide and more specifically throughout the midwest. I haven't read the book yet, but my mom said it's excellent. Hopefully we will read it in school. I'm not sure how long this Dust Bowl will continue to last and with the despair it is causing my family, I hope it ends very soon; like umm...tomorrow would be nice God? K. Thanks. I can't wait for everything to get back to normal again.
